Key point: This is a serious election with American liberties at stake. Don’t let actions deemed “unpresidential” prevent you from voting to preserve America and American liberty. Trump’s tweets and his style might rub you the wrong way. They might offend you. Mark it down, however; they’re not harming you anything like the Democrats actions to transform America will harm you if they are elected. It’s that serious.

Last time we began exploring the destructive path down which the Democrats plan to take America if they regain the presidency and Congress in this election. We listed several ways they plan to do this, including

• • • packing the Supreme Court with leftist justices,
    • doing away with the legislative filibuster in the US Senate,
    • adding DC and Puerto Rico as states, which would guarantee four additional Democrat senators in the Senate and additional Democrats in the House, likely long term, and
    • amnesty and citizenship for illegal aliens, as well as open boarders.

This last item would increase Democrat voting rolls by the millions. The others would increase and solidify Democrat representation on the Supreme Court and in Congress in a variety of other ways.

In this article I would like to explore some of the practical implications of these actions. It’s important to remember that the modern Democrat party is not liberal, but leftist, and leftists hold extreme, radical positions on important issues. Here are the ways the leftism has influenced nine important areas of life and culture. In a corresponding Prager University video, Dennis Prager explains.

If the Democrats win, they will take the bulleted actions listed above. When they do, they will eliminate both ideological balance in the various branches of government as well as the possibility of successful efforts to change the ideological leanings of those branches through elections or appointive processes. Thus, no longer will the branches of government — executive, legislative, and judicial — interact in ways that provide checks and balances. Instead, all three will be walking, or in some cases running, in lockstep to implement the leftist agenda.

The Democrats’ strategy further involves 1) enacting measures that fuel government growth and 2) implementing socialist policies under the innocuous-sounding rhetoric of social justice. With the elimination of the checks and balances we have known and seen work so effectively in American government, the takeover of the American republic by the Democrats will be complete. They will rule as tyrants. Say goodbye to liberty and freedom!

The Supreme Court

According to conservative journalist John Nolte, packing the Supreme Court

would mean the end of democracy. That’s not hyperbole. If you appoint a bunch of unelected Democrats to the Supreme Court with lifetime tenure, that’s the end of democracy — that’s turning the court over to an unaccountable legislature.

Be aware that constitutionally speaking, courts cannot enact laws, but that is exactly what they have been doing, and it is what they would do with increasing frequency once they have a Democrat makeover. Biden has resisted the idea of packing the Supreme Court in the past, he now refuses to state a position.

Incredibly, Biden has tried to say that President Trump was acting in an unconstitutional manner in nominating a replacement for the deceased Ruth Bader Ginsburg: “‘The discussion should be about why’ the president ‘is moving in a direction that’s totally inconsistent with what the founders wanted.'” Despite Biden’s frustration, nothing has been unconstitutional about the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to serve on the Supreme Court or the Senate’s process to confirm her.

Packing the Court may involve not just adding justices, but also setting term limits for them, making it possible for the Democrats to replace conservative justices whose terms are expiring with those of a leftist persuasion. Of course, Republicans, were they in control, could replace retiring justices with conservative ones, but with more justices on the Court initially filled by a Democrat-controlled Senate, restoring balance would be difficult. Moreover, with millions more voting for the Democrats because of open borders and allowing illegal aliens opportunities to vote, the idea of a Republican Senate majority in the foreseeable future would be questionable at best.

Writing for the Federalist, David Marcus lists five ways America would change under a Democrat-massaged Supreme Court. (This list summarizes Marcus’s and is arranged in a slightly different order than is the one Marcus offers in his article.)

1. 1. 1. Second Amendment rights — The Democrats can’t wait to take away guns belonging to law-abiding citizens. A leftist Supreme Court majority would almost certainly “overturn decades of precedent that have protected gun owners from both state and federal attempts to deny them their Second Amendment rights.” Imposition of fees is one of the ways to infringe on such rights. The National Firearms Act of 1934 could be used to require “American gun owners [to] pay a $200 federal tax for every high capacity magazine they currently own.”
      2. The First Amendment right of freedom of speech — A Supreme Court decision called Citizens United v. FEC was argued in 2009 and decided in 2010. In a 5 to 4 ruling aligning with precedent, the Court ruled “that corporations, or people pooling their resources, do in fact have a right to political speech. A potential reversal of that decision would open the door to a huge array of efforts by the government to restrict the speech of citizens who unite to make it.” What about freedom of speech in general? We can count on a left-leaning Supreme Court to uphold and even expand laws like the one in New York City that requires “people to use preferred [gender related] pronouns even if they do not believe that gender is mutable.” We also can look for such a Court to require politically correct speech in schools and in the workplace. Would religious organizations be exempt? The more leftist leaning the Court is, the less likely it would be to recognize religious exemptions.
      3. The First Amendment rights of religious liberty and freedom of conscience — Hobby Lobby and Little Sisters of the Poor currently are free to align their insurance benefits with their owners’ and board members’ consciences and religious convictions; they are exempt from the Obamacare contraception mandate. How long will the Supreme Court rulings solidifying these policies stand once Democrats expand the Court? It would depend on how long it would take for these cases to make it back to the Court, but we would not have to guess about the outcomes. In fact, Catholic and other faith-based hospitals are on the line! I would anticipate rulings that give the owners and operators of faith-based hospitals no choice but to cease operations. In addition, the crackdowns against churches by Democrat governors during the COVID-19 pandemic foreshadow increased restrictions that the Supreme Court is almost certain to uphold: In America, “[o]ur understanding of how we may practice our religions would undergo a major change, abandoning the American tradition of public faith, and limiting religious expression to the church and the home.”
      4. The right to life — After a Democrat makeover, the Supreme Court would be even more determined to affirm abortion than it has been in the past. We can look for infanticide to gain court approval and all kinds of state restrictions on abortion to be overturned.
      5. Laws governing elections — If you think the election process is stacked against conservatives now, just wait until we have a Supreme Court that leans solidly to the left. Say goodbye to the electoral college, hello to DC and Puerto Rico as states, and hello to voting by illegal aliens. This spells Democrat rule for the nation in perpetuity — without debate, accountability, or pushback.

Laws Related to Sexuality, Children, and Family Life

Among many other ominous probabilities, Democrat victories in this election will pave the way for egregious treatment of children and families in the area of sexuality. Abortion is not unrelated to this, because the Democrats are just fine with the use of abortion as birth control. Yet life is sacred. Life is a linchpin issue, and it ought to be enough to compel Christians to vote for Trump. Please, if you aren’t drawn to vote for Trump to protect human life from conception to natural death, please vote for him to protect children from the militant transgender mind-set.

On Thursday evening, October 15, at his town hall held in Philadelphia and broadcast nationally over ABC, Joe Biden was asked about transgenderism in children and, more broadly, transgender rights. Here is the exchange.

Biden said he would “flat-out just change the law,…eliminate those executive orders,” yet

when it comes to the law, Trump was not the one whose executive orders twisted the laws Congress passed. President Barack Obama issued executive orders in order to redefine biological sex to mean transgender identity in federal law, in clear contrast to the plain meaning of statutes [go here for more information]. President Trump reversed this revision, and Biden wants to undo Trump’s restoration of the original meaning of the laws.

Perhaps even more alarming are the assumptions Biden appears to be making about sexuality in children. Biden rejects the notion that the desire to change one’s sex during childhood might only be a phase. The fact is that in the vast majority of cases where children who think they might “be in the wrong body” are encouraged to wait and see if they really want to be a member of the opposite sex, the desire eventually dissipates.

Tony Perkins of Family Research Council Action wrote,

Joe Biden, the man vying to be your next president, thinks eight-year-olds have the capacity to make life-altering decisions to change their gender. And if you — the parent, doctor, or any other adult — try to stop them, it’s “discrimination!” On day one of his administration, he’s announced, he’ll even punish you for trying. He doesn’t care that there’s no scientific evidence proving these treatments are safe. He doesn’t care that 98 percent of boys and 88 percent of girls grow out of it. Or that it’s been called “child abuse” by the American College of Pediatricians. He doesn’t even care that hundreds of teenagers who’ve transitioned are pleading with adults to stop others from making the mistake. What do they care about? Nothing — except the approval of radical LGBT activists.

The idea that anyone — let alone a candidate for the highest office in the land — would want to lock hurting children into a lifetime of misery is unconscionable. Parents of the teenagers who’ve walked that path will tell you what comes next: heartbreak. “Once we have cut that beautiful body, when the voice is permanently broken, the beard is there for good, the breasts are gone, what happens if the body was never wrong to start with? What will you tell the daughters [who] realize, too late, that they have destroyed their ability to bear children, or to nurse them?” Girls like Sydney Wright say, “I was struggling with a big hole in my heart.” But instead of helping her, adults pushed her down a path that has permanently scarred her. “Nobody told me,” she said emotionally, “that most people outgrow their feelings.”

Joe Biden isn’t just wrong, he’s dangerous. And in a brand-new publication, “Do Not Sterilize Children,” just released today, FRC’s Peter Sprigg explains why.

In other words, it is nothing short of abusive to allow children to make these kinds of decisions! Note again what the former vice-president said: “The idea that an eight-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides you know, I decided I want to be transgender. That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier. There should be zero discrimination.”

The Equality Act…Isn’t

The Equality Act, which Mr. Perkins alluded to in his hyperlinks, is a key element of the Democrats’ efforts to bring about “zero discrimination.” But this proposed law would not treat people equally. Instead, it would coerce and punish those who don’t agree with the politically correct narrative about transgenderism. An article posted in the Heritage Foundation’s online publication The Daily Signal cites “7 Reasons Why the Equality Act Is Anything But.” The list proves the Democrats are dreaming of an America very different from the one we have enjoyed thus far. The following items refer to the Equality Act and are quoted directly from the article.

1. 1. 1. It would penalize Americans who don’t affirm new sexual norms or gender ideology.
      2. It would compel speech.
      3. It could shut down charities.
      4. It would allow more biological males to defeat girls in sports.
      5. It could be used to coerce medical professionals.
      6. It could lead to more parents losing custody of their children.
      7. It would enable sexual assault.

Biden apparently is unmoved by these tyrannical elements in the proposed law. On January 25, 2020, he tweeted, “Let’s be clear: Transgender equality is the civil rights issue of our time. There is no room for compromise when it comes to basic human rights.”

If for no other reason than protecting America’s children, Christians must reject Joe Biden and his agenda by voting for President Trump.

President Trump Pushes Back Against the Leftist Agenda

So you see, this election isn’t about choosing between two benign options for president. It’s about preserving the American way of life or allowing those who are opposed to that way of life to change the country profoundly and forever. President Trump stands in their way. He is hated intensely and opposed by Democrats and the media at every turn. He often uses tweets to communicate with the American people, and at times he is “unpresidential” and unrefined. But he is dong what needs to be done in terms of policy. He is worthy of our support.

In an article titled He Fights, Evan Sayet writes,

The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the ‘60s. To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale. It has been a war they’ve fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one – the violent take-over of the universities – till today.

Conservative leaders in the past, Sayet contends, have tried being nice, civil, dignified, and presidential. These approaches haven’t worked, because this is a war for the heart and soul of America and for the hearts, minds, and souls of the American people. While the Democrats and their allies have been engaging in a war, nearly every conservative leader has been playing the role of “Mr. Nice Guy.” Sayet continues,

With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America’s first wartime president in the Culture War.

During wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming. Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today. Lincoln rightly recognized that, “I cannot spare this man. He fights.”

Thankfully, Donald Trump fights, and he fights to preserve America as we have known it. He fights to preserve our freedom and liberty as guided and restrained by timeless American values.

Here’s the bottom line. What the Democrats want to do to America should disturb us far more than any or all of President Trump’s unrefined tweets. He fights, and he fights effectively. He is working tirelessly, tooth and nail, to keep the Democrats’ agenda at bay and to preserve American liberty. Discerning voters will give President Trump their support, even if they don’t like his style.

Far too much is at stake to do otherwise.
