I’m quite sick and tired of all of the euphemisms surrounding abortion, of “a woman’s choice,” “health care,” “my body, my choice.” It’s not [any of these things]. It is the brutal slaughter of babies in the womb. And it is about time that people who call themselves anti-abortion or pro-life — it’s about time that we started making some serious noise about this, and I hope that people will, after watching this.
—Laura Klassen, founder of choice42.com, which, along with Loor.tv, has released a game-changing video called “The Procedure.”
Key point: One reason the horror of abortion continues is because we, as a people, are unwilling to recognize it as a horror. That has to change. You can help bring about that change.
Before the mid-term elections in the United States that took place this past Tuesday, November 8, Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democrat congresswoman from Hawaii, visited Michigan where her mother lives. She was campaigning with Tudor Dixon, the Republican opponent of Gretchen Whitmer, the sitting governor of Michigan, who was running for reelection. On November 8, Whitmer would be reelected by a margin of 10.6 percent of the vote.
In a tweet she released on November 6, Gabbard warned Michiganders about Proposition 3, the “Right to Reproductive Freedom Initiative.” According to Ballotpedia,
A “yes” vote supported providing a state constitutional right to reproductive freedom, which is defined as “the right to make and effectuate decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy, including but not limited to prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion care, miscarriage management, and infertility care.
Gabbard called the proposal “draconian” and tweeted, “I urge Michigan residents to protect women, parental rights & children by voting against Proposal 3 that includes loopholes to allow late-term/partial birth abortion (which is really infanticide) & overturns law to inform parents of a child pursuing abortion/hormone therapies.”

More signatures were collected in Michigan to put Proposition 3 on the ballot than had ever been collected before, on any other ballot initiative ever considered in the state.
Sadly, Michigan voters passed Proposal 3, voting 2,477,707 (56.66 percent) for the constitutional amendment and 1,895,577 (43.34 percent) against it. The amendment “puts a definitive end to a 1931 ban on abortion that had been blocked in court but could have been revived.”
Devin Roberts, a junior at Michigan State University, attempted to frame the proposal as a measure that even those opposed to abortion should support. He said, “There’s a lot of energy for Prop 3 on campus right now, whether you agree with abortion or not.”
He added, “I think students want to have the same rights that their parents had when they were younger.” Ironically, lost on this college junior was the reality that the “rights” he was defending actually put his own life on the line during his mother’s pregnancy with him. In other words, had his mother wanted an abortion, she could have obtained one, legally; and Mr. Roberts would not be alive in 2022 making his argument in favor of extending a “right” that could have ended his own life.
Is Life No Longer Precious and Considered Worth Preserving — in Any State Putting this Question Before its People?
Michigan was one of six states in 2022 where voters considered proposals related to abortion. The remaining five were as follows.
California — “A ‘yes’ vote supported amending the state constitution to prohibit the state from interfering with or denying an individual’s reproductive freedom, which is defined to include a right to an abortion and a right to contraceptives.” The amendment passed, with 3,587,589 (64.7 percent) voting for, and 1,955,049 (35.3 percent) voting against it.
In August, Kansas voters considered a state constitutional amendment that would have stipulated “that nothing in the state constitution creates a right to abortion or requires government funding for abortion and…that the legislature has the authority to pass laws regarding abortion.” This amendment was defeated, with 543,855 (58.97 percent) voting against it, and 378,466 (41.03 percent) voting for it.
Kentucky — Voters in Kentucky decided against a constitutional amendment that would have amended “the Kentucky Constitution to state that nothing in the state constitution creates a right to abortion or requires government funding for abortion.” Voters cast 740,658 votes (52.38 percent) against the proposed amendment, and 673,396 votes (47.62 percent) in favor of it.
The Associated Press reported that
The Kentucky result bucked the state’s Republican-led Legislature, which had imposed a near-total ban on the procedure and put the proposed state constitutional amendment on the ballot. It also mirrored what happened in another red state, Kansas (noted above), where voters in August rejected changing that state’s constitution to let lawmakers tighten restrictions or ban abortions.
Montana — Montana voters considered LR-131, the Medical Care Requirements for Born-Alive Infants Measure. Had it passed, it would have
-
-
- established “that infants born alive at any stage of development are legal persons;”
- “require[d] medical care to be provided to infants born alive after an induced labor, cesarean section, attempted abortion, or another method;” and
- “establish[d] a $50,000 fine and/or 20 years in prison as the maximum penalty for violating the law.”
-
This proposal was defeated, with 231,729 votes (52.55 percent) being cast against, and 209,220 (47.45 percent) being cast for the measure. Additional information about this measure is available here and here.
Vermont — Residents of Vermont considered Proposal 5, the “Right to Personal Reproductive Autonomy Amendment.” Ballotpedia states that “A ‘yes’ vote supported amending the Vermont Constitution to add language protecting the right to personal reproductive autonomy and prohibiting government infringement unless justified by a compelling state interest.” This proposed amendment was adopted, with 135,520 (77.18 percent) voting for, and 40,067 (22.82 percent) voting against it.
Thus, in every ballot measure on abortion this year, the people either voted for proposals permitting and even promoting abortion; or they failed to support (failed to vote for) or voted against measures upholding and preserving life. For the Christian, supporting a measure in favor of abortion or failing to support one that would affirm life is unconscionable and a betrayal of clear biblical teachings.
The election results on abortion ballot measures underscore that in the United States, a frank discussion about the horrors of abortion is long overdue. The left has successfully cloaked these horrors in euphemisms and other forms of high, noble-sounding rhetoric. These are lies, and they remind us of Nazi euphemisms. (Read on, and you’ll understand that this analogy is quite fitting.) The lies and the truth about abortion must be exposed.
Presenting the Stark Truth
Fortunately, a pro-life organization based in Canada, choice42.com (Choice for Two), has, in cooperation with Loor.tv, created a video that does unmask abortion, revealing what it is and what it does.
In the above screen shot of the “About” page on choice42.com’s website, please notice the third bulleted item under the heading “What We Believe”: “Women are capable and strong enough to choose life for their babies.” This tenet holds women in high esteem, affirming them and effectively holding them accountable for their choices. Moreover, it aligns perfectly with the fourth bulleted item in the same list: “The Gospel of Jesus Christ is crucial to the fight against abortion.” Choice 4 2 gets it right; these principles, along the two others listed, are essential to the approach pro-life Christians must take if we ever are going to see an end to abortion in the United States, Canada, and the world.
Women are capable and strong enough to choose life for their babies. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is crucial to the fight against abortion.
—Choice 4 2—
The video from Choice 4 2 presents the true story of an ultrasound technician in a hospital who was summoned to the operating room to assist with a procedure. When he received his instructions, the technician did not know he was being called to provide help in performing an abortion.
The video is animated, but it is graphic; and viewer discretion is advised. Nevertheless, it presents stark realities about abortion that people must understand. As the title of this post asserts, “A National Discussion About the Horrific Nature of Abortion Is Long Overdue.” Please watch:
Titled “The Procedure,” this video is available on You Tube here. Yes, it is is difficult to watch — but again, Americans need to know what they’re doing when they give their consent to abortion. Abortion is the taking of innocent human life. It is murder, regardless of when the abortion takes place during the pregnancy or the means by which it is performed.
Action Points
Please, watch “The Procedure.” Also watch Eric Metaxas’s interview of Laura Klassen, founder of choice42.com. They discuss the urgent need to expose the horrors of abortion in Laura’s own country — Canada — and in the United States. It is from this interview that the quote from Laura Klassen posted at the top of this post comes.
In addition, share “The Procedure” with others. Don’t be rude or run roughshod over people, but don’t shy away from having difficult conversations, either.
Finally, inform people at your church about this issue and encourage them, and especially your church’s leaders, to speak out. On Thursday, November 10, Gary Bauer, the Senior Vice President of Public Policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, sent out an email in which he said this:
The churches of America must find their voice on protecting innocent human life, and Christians must become more involved in the public square. America will not have God’s blessing and protection if we continue to destroy children who are each created in his image.
America needs to confess and repent of her national sins, and abortion clearly is one of them — one that is taking its toll on our country’s stability and cohesion. To understand just how bloodstained our hands are, we need to recognize what abortion is, what it does, and what it has been doing — not only to innocent children and their mothers, but also to our national psyche and character — for fifty years.
God, help us!
