After Obergefell, Can Courts Rewrite Laws?

The Obergefell ruling that redefined marriage in the United States to include same-sex couples did many things, but one thing it should not have done is altered the principle that courts cannot make laws. Yet, in the wake of Obergefell, courts are beginning to rewrite state marriage laws! But wait! In Tennessee there’s one man who is fighting this kind of judicial overreach, and he’s representing over 53 state legislators in the process. Let’s make sure that this man and the legislators he’s representing don’t stand alone!
