Don’t Let the Stain on Jay Jones’s Character Also Soil and Stain Virginia!

In this post, I want highlight some clips from two important podcasts in which the races for attorney general and governor in Virginia are discussed. I will ask several important questions about the situation that has unfolded in the Old Dominion. I continue to discuss the situation in Virginia against the backdrop of my most recent post, which deals with the same subject.

Last time I cited two examples of government’s fulfilling its primary and most important function:

Immediately thereafter, I contrasted these two examples to the death threats Jay Jones made in 2022 — texts in which he fantasized shooting and killing a political opponent, and then more texts in which he expressed the desire to see his political opponent’s children die in their mother’s arms. Then-Republican Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, Todd Gilbert, was the target of Jones’s hatred and death-wishes — along with Gilbert’s wife Jennifer and young children.

“Todd and Jennifer are evil” and are “breeding little fascists,” Jay Jones wrote. He also stated his belief that “only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.”

“Todd and [his wife] Jennifer are evil” and are “breeding little fascists,” Jones wrote. He also stated his belief that “only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.” Jones doubled down and then tripled down on his threats! Only when they were made public and the issue did not go away did he issue any statement that could be characterized as remorse or regret. That statement came only after he initially

blamed his opponent for allegedly planting stories and then criticized Republicans.

“Like all people, I’ve sent text messages that I regret, and I believe that violent rhetoric has no place in our politics,” Jones said.

“Let’s be clear about what is happening in the attorney general race right now: Jason Miyares is dropping smears through Trump-controlled media organizations to assault my character and rescue his desperate campaign.

“This is a strategy that ensures Jason Miyares will continue to be accountable to Donald Trump, not the people of Virginia. This race is about whether Trump can control Virginia or Virginians control Virginia.”

Jay Jones

Remember that Jay Jones is not a typical, ordinary Virginia citizen. He is running as a Democrat for attorney general in his state! While condemnation of the nature of the texts has been near universal among the Democrats who spoke publicly about them, they all (or nearly all) stopped short of saying Jones should drop out of the race. This includes Democrat Senators in Congress.

Meanwhile, there are some who are sounding the alarm. A number of noteworthy individuals and groups have called on Jones to drop out — but they’re not high-profile Democrats or Democrat organizations. This summary was accessed on October 20, 2025. Add to the list a conservative group by the name of Rally Virginia.

Again, Jay Jones is running for attorney general in the Commonwealth of Virginia! My question is this: How can it be that normally or typically, making death threats will result in a person’s arrest (as in this instance and this one); and yet, when a Democrat candidate for attorney general in makes them, he is allowed to continue to run for that office, even one that would put him in charge of prosecuting other people who also have made death threats, including some who had actually carried them out?

Make no mistake. Jay Jones’s threats indicate that his desire to see Todd Gilbert and his children die were (and perhaps still are) deep-seated. Walter Kirn, editor-at-large of “County Highway,” has studied the psychology of this mindset, and on the Megyn Kelly Show broadcast October 10, he warned about how serious and how ominous such a mindset is. Kelly echoed Kirn’s concern. She reviewed the events that occurred in Jones’s interactions with Republican Delegate Carrie Coyner, the individual to whom he sent the texts (mistakenly at first). Jones’s doubling down and tripling down on his horrific statements indicate that he was entrenched in his perspective. In other words, he was dead serious.

The Megyn Kelly Show

Additional questions: Why does Jay Jones get a pass? Others who have made these kinds of threats have been arrested! And why is all the evidence of deep-seated hatred on Jones’s part being ignored? Is it because when his texts were made public, it was too late for Democrats to replace him on the ballot?

Kirn also warned about the significant damage that would be inflicted on reputation of Virginia’s law enforcement community if Jones is elected.

Are Virginia voters really willing to allow the stain on Jay Jones’ character to also stain the reputation of the state’s law enforcement entities and personnel?

Democrats have reached a new low. They don’t care if a man who is obsessed (or who even might be obsessed) with killing his political opponent and his children is elevated to the top law enforcement office in Virginia. From Wikipedia:

The attorney general represents the legal interests of the people of Virginia and agencies and boards of the state’s government. By law, the attorney general must represent the state and its constituent agencies unless it is impractical to do so, in which case private legal representation may be contracted to serve in their place. They are responsible for aiding investigative activities into certain criminal activities, enforcing certain laws, and providing official advice on questions of law to members of the Virginia General Assembly and other state officials. The attorney general can be impeached and removed from office by the Virginia General Assembly.

Remember that last time we cited an article highlighting that highlighted the results of a poll that found that “93% of Virginia Democrats Approve of Their Candidates Calling for the Murder of Republicans and Children Dying in Their Mothers’ Arms.” Yes, there is a vast difference between Republicans and Democrats on the matter of holding candidates to what used to be universally-accepted moral and ethical tenets. It is alarming in itself that apparently Democrats think it’s OK to dream about and even to advocate the deaths of their political opponents!

If Jay Jones is elected, the stain that has permanently soiled his own reputation will infect the Commonwealth of Virginia, perhaps irreparably. Will anyone be able to blame Republicans and conservatives for looking over their shoulders because they know they very likely are being targeted?

Furthermore, recall that Abigail Spanberger is the gubernatorial candidate who condemned Jones’s rhetoric but did not deem it disqualifying. If she is elected, how will conservatives be able to trust her? Last time we described the situation this way:

Abigail Spanberger

Throughout American history, in countless instances, huge numbers of people have lived under the authority of presidents, governors, and other elected officials they did not support at the ballot box. Even so, they were among those offering their consent to be so governed — because the rules of decorum and human decency had not been violated. These people never had to wonder if their leaders wanted them dead for disagreeing with them on policy. That has now changed! How can conservatives readily offer their consent to be governed by those whom they know might want them dead merely for holding opposing political views? How can they be sure their inherent rights and the rights of their children will be protected when a candidate says, “Let your rage fuel you” and when she supports biological men in girls’ and women’s restrooms and locker rooms? These are dangerous times!

Mark it down. How can Spanberger’s condemnation of Jay Jones’s texts be believed if she won’t call on him to exit the race for attorney general? The voters now know about the texts, Spanberger says, and they can decide for themselves. Are you kidding me? This is cowardice, not leadership! In this clip from the Megyn Kelly Show, the first voice you will hear is that of Spanberger in the October 9 debate with Winsome Earle-Sears.

Take note: Walter Kirn indicates that Jay Jones is a sociopath (also go here)! Are Virginia voters really willing to elect as their attorney general (or to allow a man to be elected as their attorney general) someone who has, or may have, an “antisocial personality disorder“? Apparently Abigail Spamberger thinks that would be perfectly OK!

Make no mistake. Her refusal to call for Jay Jones to exit the race showcases her priorities!

At the conclusion of her show, Megyn Kelly explains what is at stake for Virginians and Virginia — and Wlater Kirn indicates the situation in Virginia couldn’t be more serious or perilous. Kirn uses yet another ominous term in referring to Jay Jones and his condition — psychopathy. Jay Jones, Kirn indicates, doesn’t just want

to see that person [Todd Gilbert] die or those two children die. He wants to see people die. He wants to see death. He wants to see violence. That’s how he thinks. And the truth is that isn’t a thinker. that is an emotional basket case.

“People fear these people,” says Walter Kirn. Yes, they are to be feared, and a best-case scenario is to fear them before they are elected so they won’t be elected.

Better to Fear the Democrats and What they Might Do Before They Are Elected — So They Won’t Be Elected

I conclude with this clip from the podcast “Larry with Larry O’Connor.” It was released on October 20, 2025. The complete podcast is available here, and I encourage you to watch it. Meanwhile, listen to this clip in which Larry explains one of the ways Abigail Spanberger will make things worse for Virginians if she is elected governor.

Larry with Larry O’Connor

This is as serious as it gets, folks! We cannot lose Virginia to radical leftists! Are you a Virginia resident? Pray and vote! If you’re not a Virginia resident, pray!

Liberty is at stake!
