Are you a writer, pastor, speaker, or anyone else who has a message to share? I can help you communicate with greater clarity and effectiveness. I offer services in the following areas: writing, editing, teaching plans, sermon preparation, and proofreading.
- I am a writer. I find subjects relating to religious liberty, life, marriage, and the Christian worldview most interesting; but of course I can write on other topics as well. You’ll find samples of my writing here, at my website, www.wordfoundations.com. I introduce readers to my site on this page.
- I’m an editor. I served in this role at LifeWay Christian Resources for more than 17 years. I edited to address concerns relating to grammar, smoothness, clarity, biblical and doctrinal accuracy, and effectiveness. Also, I copy fitted the text, adjusting elements like paragraph breaks and word count.
- I am a teaching plan/lesson plan writer. I create Bible study curriculum for Bible study leaders and learners. The approaches I use include but are not limited to discussion starters (such as Q & A and respond-to-statements-made), questions related to specific biblical content, case studies, listening teams, discussion groups, brainstorming, debates, roleplaying, panel discussions, lecture, and creative writing.
- I can prepare notes for sermons and other oral or written presentations. Numerous articles I’ve written and posted on my website can be preached easily. Here is one example, and here is another.
- I am a proofreader. At LifeWay I was responsible to proofread as I edited, but I also had an assistant who proofread in the final phases of the production process. This notwithstanding, it’s not possible to be a good editor without being a decent proofreader.
