Word Foundations: Challenging Fake Views

In our day, unfortunately, truth is an increasingly rare commodity. For example, fake news, which has been highlighted in our culture in recent months, is a problem we need to recognize; but we also need to see that the underlying problem is one of fake views—erroneous assumptions about life, relationships, family, parenting, sexuality, and a host of other things, including the source of true happiness and fulfillment in life.

At www.wordfoundations.com, I strive to uphold the truth to the greatest degree possible, with the greatest amount of charity and concern for all. Skirting the truth is not a manifestation of charity or concern.

Therefore, I seek to lovingly expose fake views, even though, as the above quote from Francis Schaeffer indicates, people often don’t even realize a problem exists. As Jesus said in John 8:32, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Like a surgical knife, the truth can cut deeply. Yet, also like a surgical knife, when it is rightly used and applied, it ultimately enhances the likelihood of improvement and healing.
